8 Options to Worship at Neighborhood Church on Easter

I am excited and amazed that we (Neighborhood Church) are putting on not only our typical 5-service worship weekend, but that we are adding a one-time-only Video Cafe´to the mix making a total of 8 OPTIONS to worship.  Within a two year period we went from three services all on Sunday to our new format that includes a Saturday option and two separate venues with different styles of worship.

In order to make room for the expected crowds, we needed to come up with a way to make more room this weekend.  This experiment may turn into something more, but for now we are glad to leverage the video technology installed by our very own Media Director, Les Faires.  With the video in place to do The Well worship venue, we actually have the option of feeding the signal live throughout the building.

I will let you all know what happens after the fact.  For now, enjoy the chocolate bunny ad we made (thanks to our marketing wiz Wendy Kerr and her husband-photographer Tom of BrilliantExpression.com).

    So how can you claim that Neighborhood Church satisfies the soul? I didn’t think people could do that. We are only complete in Christ. Be wary of becoming a typical corprate mega church. The world doesn’t need any more of those. Did you know that 50 years ago the typical employer made 15 times what most of their employees make… now the average is that the employer makes 500 times what their employees make, and that is because employers have found that barely paying their employees makes more money for them… just something to think about.

    I would disagree about the mega church comment. Joel..what is a typical mega-church? Check out the research just delivered from Hartford Institue. (http://hirr.hartsem.edu/) You would surprised at how many myths there are flying around there about this growing movement.

    Of course, Neighborhood Church as a group of people have a message that will satisfy the soul…certainly more than a hollow chocolate bunny! That is all we are trying to communicate and to do it in a way that actually does not take ourselve too seriously.

    Not sure I can disagree about over paid CEO’s. But, if you consider sole business owners, all of their assests are in the business at times which inflates their pay on paper, but not reality. For instance, my father-in-law owned a record store, on paper he was rich, but he did not make a lot of money.

    Again, there are assumptions being made here. I just challenge you to look at all sides and get good information. These are all easy targets.
