Worship Set List: July 21-22

This weekend at the Celebration worship services we really rocked the house.  The idea this week centered around defining a bit of why and what we do in praise and worship.  Psalm 84′s "Better is one day in your courts than a thousand elsewhere" was translated to challenging our church to by faith believe God is present in our services here in Redding, CA.  It is not a place, but the fact of God’s people hearing His word, praying and crying out to Him that are important. It is not working up emotion, but simply expressing in a grand way what we actually believe! People in other nations worship with the risk of arrest or worse.  We have a thousand other options in our culture that compete for worship:  the beach, the lake, the mountains, TV…

The list:

Well, God was present in worship services all over the world so how was your weekend of worship?

I found you! I was the tall, goofy, red-head you had lunch with at that Italian place.

I finally found the card you gave me, and I’m now reading you through RSS 2.0!

HA…thank goodness, no. But, the thoughts above were shared as a transition to “Better is One Day”

This weekend I had off and Mike Baldwin led the team for the Celebration worship services.  Here is what he, I and Robb Redman, our speaker, put together.

I missed being there, but heard it was great. How was your weekend of worship?

Worship Set List: July 7-8

This weekend was communion (the Lord’s Supper) at our Celebration worship services.  Our team had quite a locker room discussion before leading Saturday night.  I mentioned to our team that the summer is pretty hard to staff, as they know.  We are in our second summer since launching a Saturday night service which dramatically changed how we structure our weekend worship teams and preparations.  What is clear to me is that our team is fantastic–no drama, great talent, and a heart for our church and the mission.  Really, I am blessed!  Here is the set of songs we led this past weekend:

How was your worship weekend? Have a great week of living out worship!

Worship Set List: June 30-July 1

This weekend I was able to get off the platform as the upfront worship leader, and produce in the Celebration worship services.  Guest Trent Smith from Paradise Alliance Church came and filled the spot with his worship team and did a superb job.  We are going to get Trent back with us in Redding to debut his CD material for Redding in early September.

Here was Trent’s set list:

  • Everlasting God (Brenton Brown)
  • Unashamed (Trent Smith)
  • Rain Down (Delirious?)
  • I Will Wait
  • Never Let Go (Matt Redman)

Another treat, for me anyway, was being able to play piano/keys for The Well service on Sunday.

That’s so cool that you guys did Rain Down! A song I’ve been wanting to do for a while. I wish I could hear it.
