Our Christmas together: Rock Band, Tabasco, and Bible Key Chain

Biblekeychain

One of our Christmas traditions is to go out to eat after Christmas Eve services and allow my son to eat an ice cream sundae.  By that time, multiple worship services have been performed and our family has earned the right to dine decently for once rather than rely on Taco Bell or protein bars.

The next morning, Christmas day came with much fanfare. We had a great time together, the four of us.  Our Christmas this year was around the fire playing Xbox 360 with our new game Rock Band.  What a blast!  All four of us made a band called the Wafflers.  (Named after our love of waffles).

So, Rock Band, beyond the cool fun as a game, is my favorite gift this year.  Why?  Anything we can all do together that is interactive and deals with music has my vote.  My second favorite is the Tabasco boxers.  All I can say is that they are "hot" and they fit comfortably.  Last, but not least, was the Bible Quotes Keychain.  It only scrolls about five characters across the screen at a time in KJV and is as cheesy as can be–which is why I LOVE it.

Our Christmas dinner was prepared by me:  corn dogs and french fries.  I spared no expense.  We were too busy touring with the Wafflers to worry about eating fancy, anyway.  In fact, I made dinner tonight, too with beer-battered pork chops, onion rings, fries….whoa.

Below I have linked a personal photo album of the day.  How was your family Christmas celebration?

Christmas Day 2007!

Sounds like you had a wonderful Christmas celebration. Mine was rather subdued, as it typically is. On Dec 23, we had worship, a Living Nativity, a concert, and a community meal. On Dec 24, we had two evening services, the last one ending at midnight. By Christmas Day I have just enough energy to watch the kids open gifts and try to feign enthusiastic interest. Still, God is good. We’re all together, healthy, with a warm place to sleep and good food to eat. You can’t be more blessed than that.

We were playing on the 360 also…but Call of Duty 4!

Ours was awesome, Rich. In a lot of ways, the best one yet. I’ll have a major announcement on Another Storm some time soon if you still have it subscribed in your reader. Glad to see you and your family were able to enjoy such a special time together.

Great. Looks like I’ll be making lots of french fries this year. I got two deep fryers for Christmas.
