Updated blog design for the new year

I have finally done  a first-phase overhaul of the look of my blog.  My images were getting old and I had to get the SoCal flair, so my daughter took the photo for the new banner.  Also, I have significantly cleaned up my sidebar, going to rotating blogrolls and eliminating the books, CDs and stuff that will add later on pages for those interested in my recommendations.  Let me know what you think, so click in for once and comment you lurking RSS readers!

I think change is always good.

Hey man… Ain’t nothing wrong with phantom RSS readers! Site looks good, but of course I’m always partial to the NorCal flair!

I have such a short memory, so I already don’t remember much about what your other blog looked like – other than the heading of you with a laptop, a goutee (or is that a Van Dyke?) and a smirk. It was a good photo. I communicated the fun you have blogging.

I like the layout of this a great deal. The side bars are clean (a lot of good stuff, without being too busy). The heading intrigues me (I’m big on the need for an interesting photo/artwork as your first impression).

This photo suggests to me you are contemplating the beginning of a journey (the bridge/path), and you are looking to the assumed audience for guidance (staring at the camera), unsure if you can trust it (sort of a bemused expression).

The sign beside you is a mystery (mysteries are good). It seems to say something, but the observer can’t read it and you don’t seem interested in looking.

    What’s your take?

Looking good! I’m going to do some overhauls on mine soon as well. Have a great new year, and thanks for the encouragement over at Another Strom.

Pete! How fun. The sign is a mystery. I will post a picture of the sign eventually. But, the mystery…that is the fun part. And, you pegged the journey and conversation ethos–that I am on a journey and my audience is somehow part of it.
