Worship Set List – 12/30: Taxes, unity and praise
We had a fantastic message on Christian unity by Mark Strauss of Bethel Seminary, San Diego. I opened the service with a dead panned thought about taxes. When the church seemed to check out, I said, “You are just mad at me for mentioning a new tax year begins this week.” At least there was a courtesy laugh to break the ice.
Our worship set was on “praise” since I wanted to end the year with
a band, fight the post-Christmas blues and thought any reason to do
Lincoln Brewster’s “Everybody Praise the Lord” is a good one. Our
band, thanks to Mike and crew, really sizzles on that tune and boy the
message is simple but profound: we worship God for who He is and what
He has done.
Here is the music from Sunday with links to iTunes:
- Let The Praises Ring – Lincoln Brewster
- A Thousand Hallelujahs – Mark Roach
- Everybody Praise the Lord – Lincoln Brewster
- Hosanna – Paul Baloche
- Amazing Grace (My Chains are gone) – Chris Tomlin
How was your worship weekend?
*note my new category “worship set lists”

The whole service just kicked my butt, worship was one of my favorite set list ever, any time you can do the full on drop the neck of your guitar, stomp your foot thru the stage, E chord on the bass, and that is just the first note of the set, life is good!!! Mark’s message, the first 10 minutes was what I needed to hear more than any message in the last 5 years, Thank you Mark for calling me out of the rut.
Each and every week seems to grow more and more special with our team, when are we going to have that let down week? Never, if God goes before us.
Can’t wait till Thursday, rehearsal…
