What’s Rich smoking anyway??

I am smoking here a Honduran cigar.  My patio is one of my quiet-time-thinking spots.  Cigars help me think and are great as a treat once in a while but really are something to enjoy with the guys.  While enjoying this smoke I was reading my iPod Bible (www.youversion.com) and thinking about friends.  Life is not meant to be a lonely proposition, it is meant to be lived in community.  The finer things in life are so much sweeter in that context.  That is true for cigars, and it is true for our life as Christians.

What things do sometimes enjoy alone that are better with friends?

Cigars are an awesome way to seem uber manly. This is why I smoke them in staff meetings, PTA meetings, and during intercessory prayer meetings.

Seriously, I love stogies as well. I always have ulterior motives for Cuba missions trips…

That’s quite a stogie you’ve got there, Rich. I just read this to my wife, and she loved it. Very insightful.

  3. Mmmm . . . cigars are good. Much better with people. Actually shared a Gurkha medium with some friends on monday, talked theology. Beer, and Ale’s are also good friend sharing items . . . iPods are not. Love the pic Rich.

I’ve never tried a cigar. Seems interesting. Let’s get together and smoke cigars whilst we wax poetic.

  5. I know I can always make my hubby smile by bringing him back a cigar from wherever I have been in the world when I have to travel. He has to smoke them outside (but I do like them:)
