I pulled "Let it Rise" out a few weeks ago, and it rocked. We put a cool drum beat to kick it off. Great congregational tune still.

We had our sister church join us because they had issues with their building. So it was fun to have a really full church. I think we sang the songs kind of high, but I didn't choose the songs. I think people were still blessed though.

We used 2 acoustic guitars, keyboard and small drum kit. It was a very simplistic sound but I really enjoyed it. Not something we do very often.

Rich, what are the chances of getting a copy/synopsis of that sermon? I'd love to read the thoughts there, as male leadership may be the greatest need in our church now in terms of human contribution.

Rich,
thanks for being a part of "Sunday Setlists" - you have sparked my curiosity with "How Long" - I'm going to try and find it on iTunes now. We're doing a Sunday in a few weeks where it's about trusting God in the hard times ... probably the largest employer in our county just layed off hundreds and hundreds of people, had a huge impact on our community ... could be a good time to do something like this.

For the Kingdom,
Fred McKinnon

Rich,
"You Never Let God" - huh?

That must be a song about the guys who always try to do it on their own instead of relying on the Holy Spirit :)

My weekend was a real breakthrough.

Your grace is enough

All because of Jesus - Steve Fee

Marvelous Light - Charlie Hall

Lost in the Wonder - Gordie Houston

Enough _ Chris Tomlin

As it is in heaven -Matt Maher

This week there was a great energy to our worship. We have a relatively "New in Christ" congregation and coupled with some challenges presented by our auditorium, getting our people to let go in worship has been a struggle. The Sunday prior to yesterday God really moved and broke down some barriers as we challenged our people to essentially get over what ever their hang ups are about singing out and crying out to God, raising your hands if God leads you to or dropping to your knees if God leads you to, to feel free to worship free to come for prayer and counsel and that the worst thing would be to quench that spirit when God is moving you because you're worried about what people might think. It was nice to see it spill over to yesterday and we hope God continues to grow us in this area.
