Chris Tomlin CD “HELLO LOVE” Review & give away

Chris Tomlin Hello Love

Want this CD free?  Read to the end of my review to find out how!

Chris Tomlin’s latest project "Hello Love" is another anthem rousing worship inspiring project from a well known name.  The production is very tasty, with the expected typical thumping Tomlin-style anthems such as "Sing Sing Sing" and "God of This City" which I think is the stand out tune on this project.  And, there is more.  "God Almighty" and "I Will Rise" where simple turns into soaring orchestration.

The songs are strong, but I sense I move to address the broadening
audience Chris Tomlin has acquired.  His music is on the top CCLI
charts and is as mainstream in church music today as hymns.  My only
complaint is that the production does not capture as well the energy
that Tomlin exudes in live recordings and settings.  And, this
production is huge.

The layering might make some wonder if they could pull off these in
their churches.  Regardless, the accessibility to worship leaders is
still there.  In fact, as a piano playing worship leader, the trend in bringing that instrument back in a modern way is present in this recording.  So,
that might make some of my worship leading readers happy.

In summary, I recommend this CD to my worshiping community.  I give it 4 stars out of 5!

So, you want it free?  Simply leave a comment.  I will draw out of a hat the winner from the comments left on Thursday evening.  The winner will get a FREE CD!

[Disclosure:  I often will review and write about CDs, books and materials I deem relevant to my ministry and blog.  These are often given to me by the various publisher and record companies.]

Great Review Rich. He’s one of my fav’s. Everything he touches turns to gold, but it’s a total God thing. You can tell in his music/words that his faith just keeps growing stronger and stronger. My respect for Chris Tomlin just continues to grow.

Great idea to give away the CD. Your creativity never ends. Keep up the great work. Miss ya around Redding.

Might as well just hand over the goods, I will win. I’ve heard most of this and it is really good. 4 out of 5 is close, I might give it a half more, since Tomlin went in a little bit of direction change.

  • Brent Drummond

I wonder if Chris Tomlin has ever been attacked by his band’s drum shield.

  • http://manofdepravity.com Tyler

    Haha singley…awesome!

I already have it so no worries about adding me. The album is definitely produced. I think that is ok though. About half of his stuff is live with Passion so he has a ton of that already.

  • http://pmanderson.blogspot.com Matt Anderson

Wow that a lot of comment. I really appreciated this review. Chris Tomlin is really great. I love the creativity and heart off all the Passion guys, but mainly Crowder :)

I’d like to be put in the drawing.

Chis Tomlin is quite the talent. He captures the essence of worship in all of his songs, which makes it really easy to go straight to the throne room while listening. I have his stuff in all my worship playlists.

    Thanks for the review Rich!!

I must say that I was surprised by what I heard on iTunes… I HATE “Jesus Messiah” (hate may be a strong word, but in comparison of most of Tomlin’s work, that’s about says it), but what I’ve heard of the rest of the disc has really impressed me.

Great review, I’ve not heard a lot from this CD, but if it’s Tomlin it’s got to be decent right?

  • http://mudpuppy.wordpress.com Mud Puppy

Is it weird that I had (have) a chance to receive, review and giveaway this album on my blog, passed it up, yet I keep entering to win on everyone else’s blog?

Please enter me in the drawing!

Ah, Tomlin. Simple, accessible, singable. No wonder everyone uses his songs.

I am not ashamed of the gospel… I’m also not ashamed to ask for a free CD. I am however willing to admit that it is predestined as to who shall receive said CD. LOL
