Worship Recap & Setlist: November 2, 2008

Recap: We are almost done with our “Give Love Away” series.  Sunday we had the Danny and Marlys Ruckles share their story of adoption and foster care, which was given as a model for what love looks looks like. The service went pretty long, with many announcements and such.  But, still we hit it, I think.

Our music had a last minute switch.  Switchfoot’s “Meant to Live” was replaced by “Forever” since we just were not getting it down.  Great song, just not the day to do it.

Daylight savings time gave less people an excuse to sleep in, which was very funny.  Amazing how that seems to impact people.

Set list: Besides a last minute song change, the time of singing saw good participation.

    Yeah, service did go a little long…….and Junior High kids were like “Why do we have to wait 25 minutes to leave this room?????” We finished on time :)

    It was a good service though both in Junior High and “Big Church.”

    Almost 80 kids in JV which I think was a result of the time change. We shall see next weekend. We read the story by Max Lucado “You are Special” and how it relates to Give Love Away. I think it went well.

    Hey man, wow it’s been a long time since I darkened your blog!
    Love the set, I was curious as to how you were going to do Meant To Live? Was that going to be a congregational song? If so, were ya’ll going to make any adjustments to help it be a bit more singable?
    Looks like a great group of songs, Jesus Paid it All has been a favorite of mine since it came out.
