We just call it a "Display Case" - makes the drummer feel special.

No shield.
I've worked with bands both ways. Without a shield is definitely the best in our situation. Ambient sound is beautiful. When drums are miked properly and the drummer plays musically, to the room, for the style/feel of the song, the drums will sound great!

Preview of things to come, I wonder? Unfortunately my vote is no. I know the stage volume would go through the roof just so musicians could hear themselves.

So, the Pope Mobile really is NOT a bad thing. It allows the drummer to play to the song and not try to "hold back" If it calls for fortissimo, than you can play loud.....since most churches run with avioms these days, you can hear what's going on and not have to worry about your volume.

I say, give praise to the cage. Because you can unleash unholy things in a holy place...hahahaha!

We need to ditch ours, out of fairness to The Kyle since he is on until we get another drummer in the mix. Caging him up might kill him.
