Inauguration of Barack Obama Today: How are you celebrating and viewing it?

41psdjb9wdl_sl500_aa280_

I am excited about a new president and the historical nature of how today will represent hope in a post-racial America. In plain English that means we just elected our first black president which is a big deal. Also, I like that our new president can actually put a few words together. No offense to W, but Obama is a rarely gifted communicator.

What are people doing to celebrate? Some will buy cool memorabilia like this action figure to celebrate. I know what I am doing. I intend to celebrate the inauguration live  and come in a bit late to the office to do so. CNN will be my choice because I like Anderson Cooper and their HD.

How are you viewing this historical event? Doing it TV, online, TIVO, or smart phone?

Honestly, praying for him and our country. To me it’s another day. Another day in history to be written regardless of what happens. I’m not into the hype of the color of his skin like a lot of people are. It’s inconsequential to me. I’m more concerned with his integrity, policies, and capabilities. Other then that, he’s my new boss.

So I’m praying, and maybe I’ll catch a blurb on the internet after I put my son down for the evening after swim lessons. Being a Mr. Mom while Momma is in the Hospital aint no joke! I’ve got some new found respect for my wife.

Secretly…I work at a baptist church…I’m pretty sure I’m the only one who voted for him.

Praying, mostly. I don’t particularly agree with Pres.-elect Obama on many issues, but I think that he’s a good man. As I pray for any incoming President, I’m praying for him to be guided and protected.

We don’t have TV in my house, so I’m listening on NPR to the coverage.

I am praying, too. But common guys! This is historical, and an amazing event worthy of pride. Somehow, as I am watching the motorcade right now, it is so fun to see my son excited about getting a new president. And, with no recount. America is truly a special nation!
