Worship Recap:

This morning we had Britt Sipe teach as Greg was gone celebrating his anniversary. (Congrats to him and Robin!). Britt talked about penguins…or, you are just gonna have to listen to the podcast.

My daughter helped lead this morning with me, taking lead on the last part of the worship set and rousing us to celebrate our King with “Sing to the King”.  Emilie loves leading worship and it is awesome to see your child grow into leadership in anything, but especially in ministry!

Set List:

We introduced a new song by Lincoln Brewster, “Let Your Glory Shine” which really grooved. Again, Sunridge is so blessed to have a worship team like we do!

  • Let Your Glory Shine – Lincoln Brewster
  • Salvation is Here – Hillsong United
  • O Worship The King – Kristian Stanfill Chris Tomlin
  • Sing to the King – Billy Foote/Candy Pearon
  • You Are My King – Billy Foote

Great set. Sing to the King is such a great song for a female lead. I’m curious, where did you find a version of “O Worship the King” by Kristian Stanfill? I’ve only ever heard traditional arrangements or the Tomlin version from Passion: Hymns.

Oops… its Tomlin’s arrangement. When I typed it, I was thinking “Jesus Paid It All” by Stanfill…there ya go…

Thanks for the fix but honestly I was a little excited for a Kristian Stanfill version. I guess I’ll get some new Stanfill tunes when his album drops in April.

Curious Rich if you did the long instrumental in the middle of “Let Your Glory Shine”?

We’re working on that song it’s taylor made to one of my guitarists but we’re cutting out the instrumental. I assume you did?

    • http://richkirkpatrick.com Rich Kirkpatrick

We of course cut out a lot of that solo, but did our own trade off with lead guitar and piano. Nice key to sing at 830am eh?? ;)

LOVE Tomlin’s version of O Worship The King. We did that last week and it re-ignited my love for it.

It’s amazing how many good songs I forget about just because I get into the groove of doing the same old songs.

There is a reason some hymns are still sung, eh?

We did “Sing to the King” this week too! I know exactly what you mean about how awesome it is to see your kids grow in leadership, it’s a blessing.
