Worship Recap & Set List: April 5, 2009 – Baptisms, Palm Sunday & 3 sermons #sundaysetlists

Recap: Today was a bit different in that we had three sermons. Well, we had three elders give a short talk about three events in the last week of Jesus’ life. What was cool about this is that our lay elders got to share today. We sandwiched a teaching about the Triumphal Entry, The Last Supper and The Crucifixion with music, communion and baptisms. By the way, I think about 40 people were dunked today! Also, my daughter helped me lead today. Each time I give her a bit more to grow as a worship leader and she seems to rise to the occasion every time. I cannot tell you how amazing it is to have your family serve with you. My wife was on screen duty today, as well. She does the images and switches the live video IMAG.

Set List: Today we did focus a bit on the fact that it was Palm Sunday.

  • Here Is Our King – David Crowder
  • Hosanna – Paul Baloche, Brenton Brown
  • From the Inside Out – Joel Houston
  • Invitacion Fountain – Michael J. Pritzl
  • Black and Blue Is My Heart – Rich Kirkpatrick
  • You Gave Your Life Away – Paul Baloche, Kathryn Scott

it was a blessing to be a part of the worship team today, rich. thanks to you and mike for the opportunity.

changing ‘you gave your life away’ to the key of e for emilie was stellar, truly put her in her wheelhouse. as we chatted after services, there was something particularly special for me and that song today.

  2. We tried planningcenteronline ‘live’ today during 2nd service. Jon jr. advanced the program. It doesn’t advance itself – somebody needs to take control and advance it. A big timer turns red when somebody goes too long, so we know when to grab the Shepard’s hook out of the Christmas props.

40 people dunked that is great!

I guess I didn’t get the “Hosanna” memo – so many churches sang that song yesterday. I love it when we’re all singing the same song across the world. So powerful. Did you use any loops on Here Is Our King and Inside Out? I’ve yet to delve into that very intimidating box of tricks.
