Why do Christian’s love coffee so much?

coffee_mugs_cups

This is a pretty cool photo I shot this morning at a meeting with a friend. You like? I drank the bigger cup, of course.

Here is a question: Why do Christian’s love coffee so much?

It may not be coffee, but the coffee shops seem to be kept in business with Bible toting believers. Your answer?

yeah…most of the pastors and local ministry leaders here meet in one of the many St.Arbucks
i don’t think they like the office that much

I am with them….an office can be confining

Keeps us out of the bars?

    • http://richkirkpatrick.com Rich Kirkpatrick

could be, but some of us like a pint of something once in a while

How about because it’s the one acceptable vice/addiction in the Christian community.

    • http://richkirkpatrick.com Rich Kirkpatrick

you mean coffee is a vice!?!? GASP!

Sorry. My internet is wiggin. Feel free to delete that first one. And this one if you wanna.

    • http://richkirkpatrick.com Rich Kirkpatrick

I am keeping it because it is fun to keep this one Bobby ;)

Actually, the one I was talking about is gone. So i don’t know what the heck is going on here.

Because we work insanely long hours, usually have a lot to do by ourselves, and coffee just seems to be the pick me up we sometimes need. Plus…it just tastes good!

I love coffee, Rich, but AUUGGHH – why do people use apostrophes in the wrong places?? AUUUUUGGGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!! Absolutely drives me to drink.
Thankfully, my drug of choice is…. bold, black, thick coffee! :-)

    • http://richkirkpatrick.com Rich Kirkpatrick

what is an apostrophe error…is this this sin of apostasy or what?

      • Vonnie

Why do CHRISTIANS love coffee so much? I am going to the Kirkpatricks, not the Kirkpatrick’s, for coffee. Well, actually, I’m too far away…

  • http://inspiringworship.wordpress.com/ Paul Fowler

We don’t do drugs so we do coffee! Can’t start my day without it.

  • Vonnie

Food for thought, though… why is it that Christians look down on smokers and drinkers, but gorge themselves at church potlucks? And also consider it okay to over-consume coffee as well? Not to lay any guilt trips, but just wondering if anyone else thinks that is a bit of a double standard.

I think Christians like coffee so much because (1) PEOPLE like coffee so much, and (2) Christians are people too. You just see lots of ministry peeps in coffee houses during the day because, unlike most people, we can get away with doing such things on work time. :)

    • http://richkirkpatrick.com Rich Kirkpatrick

Of course… people like coffee… but, it seems disproportionate is all.

well, we’re all burned out type-a’s who don’t sleep and rely on it so we don’t die half way through the day. just kidding. but really.

we also have to have a cup of coffee in between us to feel comfortable talking to just about anyone.

    oh, and it tastes fantastic.

    • http://richkirkpatrick.com Rich Kirkpatrick

Like Zach said above… CHRISTIAN CRACK ;)
