Worship VIDEO, Recap & Set List: October 18, 2009

Recap: We had a big vocal group again, although we had several last minute sick people and other big stuff take out singers. Even so, it was great to have the vocals like this. We are planning to do it about 10 times a year or so.  Was a good day for the band, too, even though a couple bumps happened. The main thing is creating a climate for our people to give an offering of worship. I think that was our win with the participation level as the measure.

The sermon was about sex! So, go to the link in the list below to hear Greg’s message. We did a “PG” service. I am curious about how many parents took kids back to the childcare.

Set List:

  • Let The Praises Ring – Linclon Brewster
  • Because of Your Love – Paul Baloche
  • Blessed Be Your Name – Matt Redman
  • Living Rain – Parachute Band
  • We Fall Down – Passion

I watched your video and I have to say that the vocal team was spot on! Wow, it sounded really full. They sang just enough to make it really effective. I wish I could have seen it live :)

  3. Rich, great setlist, Rich. I’m guessing this was not a week where you could plug the sermon topic into the search bar on SongSelect and come up with a big list to choose from!

Thanks for the video – it’s really helpful to actually see and hear what others are doing in worship meetings. I’ve heard Living Rain a number of times, but as I was listening to it here, I think it might be very timely for our folks right now.

    Have a great week.

    • Hi Harold,

eah, we do not force a sermon theme to have to be the worship theme, but if there are scriptural references we can reinforce then all the better. Thanks for you feedback!
