Worship VIDEO, Recap & Set List: October 25, 2009
Recap: Today was our last Sunday of a marriage series. So far, I have heard great response for it. Thanks Greg! Our worship service today had the Matsiko Children’s Choir from Uganda, Africa. There were awesome! They came back Sunday night for a full show.
Vocally, this seemed to be a challenging set. Call it age or whatever, it just took a lot of effort compared to some other weeks. What is most important is the participation in our service from singing and moving in step to coming forward to commit their marriages at the end of the message. “Be The Center” was a great tune and fit perfectly in some of these moment.
Set List:
- All to You – Lincoln Brewster
- Great Things – Matt Marher
- Be The Centre – Michael Frye
- Living Rain – Parachute Band

We had “Be The Centre” at our wedding, great song and always takes me back to that moment.
And kudos for spelling centre ‘correctly’ in the set list Rich, even if you got it wrong in the commentary
Ha…so no matter who I talk with it will be incorrect to someone–should have stayed consistent.
Justice with a little stink face
His guitar playing did not stink however.
worship guitar face guy looks very pleased with the goings on.
I forgot how much I like Parachute Band.
I need to introduce “Be The Centre” to our church – such a great song.
Loved the kids!
Rich,
Question to a fellow worship leader who leads from the keyboard: Do you always lead from the keyboard, or does it depend on the song? I almost always lead from the keyboard. I’ve had people tell me that I should try to get out in front of the people more, that it would be easier to connect with them if I’m not behind the keyboard all the time. But, that’s where I feel the most comfortable – I feel so exposed when I’m just leading with a mic; also that I can’t lead the band as well w/o the keyboard. Do you have any of those same challenges, or what are your thoughts on that?
Well… occasionally I get bored and think others do, so I will sing on an up song out front or with an acoustic guitar.
It is good to change up and not get in a rut, in my opinion. You can go back 6-weeks on my videos and see how much I have changed up.
