I remember you telling us of the murder when you guys bought the place, but I guess when you actually see it, it must make it “more real”. Most TV Networks have no shame in showing gruesome images, it brings ratings, peoples curiosity of morbidity. Although they showed your address, hopefully most people watching had no concern of who’s house it actually was and were just drawn into the details of the crime. We felt very much at peace in your home when we where there and I think you guys are doing a great job giving the house a new history .

You would think that ABC would pay you a royalty for showing your house on TV. I mean, now every time someone drives by it they will recognize it and stare at it. They could have not shown your address at least.

I definitely agree they should have contacted you first, and didnt see the special myself so im afraid i dont know what picture of the victim was shown… I’m just trying to think of possible bright sides

I found it quite interesting that you mention the 911 call and the glaring fact that his wife is dead, brutally murdered and the first thing on his mind is “there’s been a robbery”.

I did not hear that mentioned anywhere in the media but that was the first thing I thought when I heard the call. There is no way, unless you are mentally handicapped, that you are not going to recognize that the most important thing here is the brutal murder of the one you love NOT burglary.

I am sure if you listened to other 911 calls where someone discovers a dead loved one they will sound quite different than this one. I am sure in a legitimate call like this the caller would be completely focused on the beaten, bloody body and probably begging for an ambulance, screaming for help not talking about a burglary.

It is simply completely illogical that he would have responded the way he did after coming upon his wifes beaten, bloody dead body.

NO problem with the airing just that publicity is intoxicating and that ABC was gratuitous. I have a problem with the reporting and with the exploitation of real people–such as the victim being shown multiple times covered in blood. You would think ABC would have attempted to directly contact us. Nope.

Nothing good so far has come from ABC News and am not holding my breath. ABC get ratings. Murrieta gets?

Kind of rules out hosting one of those “Murder Mystery” parties at your house.

I remember the story…had no idea it was your house. I understand where you are coming from. Look no further than all the CSI style shows to reveal our appetite for murder so the news is just trying to keep up with entertainment television.

I dont see a problem with them airing the crime, or using your house, other than the fact you requested not to have them do so.

But think of how this could help stop crime… maybe draw revenues to Murrieta to better fund the PD… any number of good thigns could come from this. So it is a possible way for, as you said, the house to be redeemed
