Venture had a great morning all around. Our Pastor was out of town and Lorenzo (Associate Staff) brought a hard to hear but need to hear message. I played a little electric guitar and managed not too poop my pants from nervousness.(keys are more comfy for me)

Rich we did “Our God” last week for the first time. Great song. This week we did “Your Love Never Fails” for the first time I think it just struck a chord with a lot of people. Powerful song.

Both services the band was super tight. Downside our mix was terrible. (we don’t have any true sound people, mostly slider babysitters). We are still struggling with our overall sound since we opened up our ceiling and hung our speakers.

Venture Easter was great We finished our auditorium remodel (Mostly) got rid of the drop ceiling, opened it up alot, hung the speakers so the sound is a huge improvement.

We themed the message around “Abundant Life” Set up the message with the Tyrone Wells song “More” Our numbers were up, lot’s of great feedback, hoping our follow up is strong.

A friend of mine came up from Orange County to play guitar. He’s one of my favorite musicians and his back up harmonies make anyone sound better!

We have been doing a “Preparing for Easter” series. today was about feeling what Jesus felt and how he wept for people. We did the Brandon Heath song “Give Me Your Eyes” with some video imagery in the back ground (that I finished about 4a.m. Sunday Morning!) The song was a lot of fun and I think really resonated with people.

Well I guess it was “National Have Someone Else Lead Day”. I too had one of our worship team lead this morning I just sat back and played keys. I have had him sing a song or two in various sets but this time he led the whole service and did a great job. No one even asked why I wasn’t leading which was great.

We are introducing Cannons thisa coming Sunday. Pretty exited about it great song!

This past week we were limited with no electric guitars,I had hoped to just go acoustic and a cajon box for something different, however we stayed with full drums bass and acoustic. It came off better than expected.

Kind of rules out hosting one of those “Murder Mystery” parties at your house.

I remember the story…had no idea it was your house. I understand where you are coming from. Look no further than all the CSI style shows to reveal our appetite for murder so the news is just trying to keep up with entertainment television.

Self proclaimed fan of the Modern Warfare 1, picking up the new one tomorrow. The only question I have for you Rich is Are you on Xbox live and if so what is your gamer tag?

That being said I do not let my kids watch or play this game. My oldest is 11 years old.

I was blessed to be able to take some of our worship team up to lead worship for a family camp Friday thru Monday. Great time with the family and friends and an awesome opportunity to worship with a bunch of of other families from all over the place.

We had 9 baptisms this past Sunday…4 or 5 more coming up too!

It must have been kick thru the bass drum head day. Ours was actually broke before the service started. we had to do a pretty serious tape job on it and play light. Just replaced it today. We were only acoustic this Past Sunday which sometimes lacks a bit of zeal, but there was good energy.

* Venture Band is off to the local mountains this memorial day weekend to lead worship for a family camp

Venture’s Set List and Recap:

We are in the 3rd week of our “1 month to live” series. Coming off the heels of a great Men’s retreat where God had a big impact on some lives. We are having a baptism service on may 17th and possibly some the following week. God is moving in the Valley!
