I try to use my blog to edify the body.
I use Twitter for my rantings… they’re brutally honest.
Facebook is a mix… because I have so much family, fellow alumni, work people, etc.
It’s cool you can think of ten things to be glad about.
(smoothie not smoothing)
1. I got a great call from my step daughter that totally encouraged me to blog.
2. I didn’t cook dinner.
3. We have new ice cream.
4. I get to watch CSI Season 9 on DVD.
5. My dog is getting better (on antibiotics for a skin infection).
6. I didn’t hear anyone play on their drums for 30 minutes.
Maybe 7-10 are in the works.
Our Friday night ministry is with what they call “transitionally” homeless–they live in motels.
It wouldn’t bother me to have that in my neighborhood.
However, a lot of actually homeless people like being free.
Over the years, we’ve recommended people to go into group homes, shelters, etc. But in order for them to be approved and to live there, they have to conform to the “house rules.” They range from curfews to attendance at Bible studies, etc.
Also 1/3 or more of homeless people are mentally ill. Why? They don’t (won’t) take their meds and then can’t function at “normal” levels. Before the ACLU intervened, those who were extremely mentally ill lived in homes that kept them on medication.
You guys are amazing.
I don’t know how you do multiple services.
I did it once as a guest worship leader (Saturday + 3 on Sunday), by the 2nd service we were sleeping in the green room… crazy.

Yes, there is a problem with the way we present salvation.
Romans 10;9
that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.

As you can see, there is no clear-cut solution.
It’s sad all the way around.
