So sorry to hear about this sudden change. We recently had some really good friends go through the same thing at our church. I know how hard it can be on a family. You’re right – it’s not just the loss of a job, which can be hard enough all in itself. It’s also the loss of the support system other people can fall back on in their relationships at church. When anyone else loses a job at church, they can still have their church family to help them through.
I’ll definitely be in prayer for you and your family. Hopefully there are still some close friends you have there to help see you through this transition.
Thanks Rich! My morning drives with my son are also cherished. But, our roadblock is getting him to school! I wish my son would be worried about being tardy! We’re going through somewhat of a struggle with him right now in regards to school, so most mornings I’m just glad we’re in the car together on the way to school and not at home dealing with going to school or not. His poor choices are starting to add up. He’s still in the stage of not owning up to the choices as well.
But, I really appreciated your post! Thanks for the reminder.
Yes sir, I’d love two free passes to this one! I’d love to make three trips to Kansas this year! One – All About Worship Retreat; Two – NWLC; and this Worship Together event would make for a perfect trifecta!!
Easy to tell you why I’m excited about this release! I really enjoy listening to Paul’s music, and so many of his songs are usable in our church! We love his music here, so it would be great to get a copy of “Glorious”
Question to a fellow worship leader who leads from the keyboard: Do you always lead from the keyboard, or does it depend on the song? I almost always lead from the keyboard. I’ve had people tell me that I should try to get out in front of the people more, that it would be easier to connect with them if I’m not behind the keyboard all the time. But, that’s where I feel the most comfortable – I feel so exposed when I’m just leading with a mic; also that I can’t lead the band as well w/o the keyboard. Do you have any of those same challenges, or what are your thoughts on that?
For me, I guess I still don’t feel like I can be completely open enough to share everything that I think, especially knowing that people may actually read what I write. Isn’t that the point? It’s still guarded. I guess if I want to be that open about something, maybe a personal journal is better than on online blog for things like that.
I don’t feel the need to make things sound better than they actually are in a blog or post, I just don’t write about certain things. I’m still honest and authentic about things that I do write about. Is withholding the whole story being inauthentic?
But, I do appreciate following everyone’s tweets about TV shows, food, etc… In that sense, it does make people seem more real and life-like – not just an avatar or name. That makes it fun!
I would love to win the new Hillsong CD!! I have every one so far, so I just need to get this to complete the collection – plus, I’m sure there will be tons of great new songs to use in our church!
