OK. I know that it is hot all over the place and Redding is famous for hot, but we are watching fireworks from inside today. It reached 114 this afternoon and is right now 112 at 7 PM with the sun descending! How hot is it where you are at right now?

Moonstone Bistro is a new restaurant in Redding at Placer and Buena Ventura. Wow! My friend Zach
works there as a waiter so I got in before their public launch this coming Tuesday
and previewed the place with my wife and two lovely co-workers. The
appetizer I had was the asparagus cream soup. The BLT was amazing. It
was made with fried green tomatoes, prosciutto and served with a side
of amazing okra fries. I liked the dish, and my wife’s portion of the
flat bread dish since nothing was over-sauced but had a light and fresh
feel to it. The bun on the sandwich was superb, too. Oh yeah, to top
of this "lunch" we shared a chocolate soufflé which was one of the best
I have EVER had.
Pelligrini’s is a Brazilian steakhouse that recently opened in Redding, CA. My wife and I had a wonderful time with our friends the Sletners. Imagine tasty BBQ that is delivered and cut right at your table and a buffet that never stops. You have a dial at each table with a green or red depending on whether or not you want the meat to keep coming or to have it stopped. ALL you can eat, bros! Lamb, brisket, pork and you name it. And, it is all cooked to perfection in the authentic Brazilian "churrasco" style. Of course, my friend and co-worker Erich Roehl and I had a taste of this style of eating in Chicago on a trip a couple years ago and I am grateful that Erich referred this place in Redding to me.
