The Lamb’s Fellowship and Rancho Community Church are two ministries that are growing and reaching families and individuals at an increasing rate. I will surely miss the worship experiences I have been a part of at Sunridge, my former church. Here is a tribute to the last three years. One of the best group of volunteers in music and tech served with me during these three years and I will dearly miss you guys and the amazing people of Sunridge! Now, I am excited about the possible next steps God has before me. Blessings!
Worship Mythbuster: yes, worship leading is pastoring!
Do we lead worship to impress or engage people to life change? Leading worship is actually part of any pastor’s heart if we look at it that way.
As worship leaders we provide a safe place to meet God. We design experiences that are based biblically on truth, decoding the culture while engaging people in drawing nearer to God.

New Adventure: week 1 “The Big News”
If you have not heard, the big news for the Kirkpatrick family is that my role as Worship Pastor at Sunridge Community Church has ended this past week. It has been three years, minus a month. I am going to miss the people I invested three years of my life into. It is obviously a calling for me, not just employment. This sudden parting for me puts my family in a position that many other church staff people face. It’s what I call a “triple whammy”.
The hardest part was sitting around our kitchen table last Thursday and looking both my kids in the eye to deliver the news. Tears were shed. Big tears. “Dad, I’m confused” was my son’s response. My girl said that she does not want to lose another youth group. We prayed, hugged and all agreed that even though we don’t know the next leg on this journey that we are in this together.
