My computer may have died: any advice from Apple fans?

photo

I just left the Apple Genius Bar today, but thought it might be nice to “crowdsource” some options for me. I have a Macbook Pro 15″ 2Ghz that was purchased in late 2007. It appears that the video board is fried and logic board would be too–no screen or external monitor working with it. There is a chance Apple might fix it if the chip is the NVIDIA chip that has a defect, but lets say that is NOT true. What advice do you Apple users and/or pros have for me? Really, I appreciate it. If you want you can comment here, leave a note on my Contact Form or twitter me at @RKWeblog.

It appears that Apple has admitted and pressed the chip manufacturer on this. Thanks to a twitter buddy for this link: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2377

*UPDATE 10/23/09

I got my Mac back and its repaired. It has a new logic board based on the NVIDIA video chip being defective and failing. That was not explicitly stated as far as I can tell in my paperwork, but was verbally by the Apple employee. So, it was out of warranty but they did take care of it and the turn around was rather fast.
