Greg has been pastor of Sunridge Community Church for 14 years and much fruit through his amazing communication gifts are to be noted. Thousands of people have been blessed in the Temecula Valley by his teaching and the ministry of Sunridge which as a church has broad impact in social ministries locally, missions projects abroad and many stories of real lives being led to find and follow Jesus.

I am sad to see Greg go even as I recall my own transition just two years ago from Redding to here. He surely was one of the reasons I now live in this beautiful area of Southern California and serve as a member of the pastoral staff at Sunridge.

One of our church members made a powerful statement in our discussion tonight. “Why does there have to be winners and losers?” He said something to the effect that Greg should have a great ministry ahead and sell tons of books and the church can be filled and reaching more people than ever. I agree!

My heart goes out to Greg and his family as he leaves his post, knowing that it is hard to make a move like this. I am excited about his book deal and know that you will have a scoop on this very blog when it comes time to get the word out on that project. We can look forward to hearing where God will move him along with his remarkable teaching gifts in ministry heart. I pray and hope for the very best for Greg.

As far as Sunridge, I know that our elders are an impressive and godly bunch and that the next era will build upon the many good things Greg leaves us with. Yes, there are many unknowns. Yes, change is hard and requires adjustment. However, I believe our church’s best days are yet ahead. So, while on one hand I feel loss I also feel energized by the future.

As I have told Greg in person, I also want to say here how very grateful I am that he brought me on the Sunridge staff team! This group of people are indeed very special and I am honored to serve with them.

Please, go and visit Greg’s blog and give him a shout out–especially if you have had the blessing of his teaching at Sunridge Church.
