Targeted marketing, facebook and fat pastors…

fat_pastor_fitnessThis ad (shown in the picture) has been on my Facebook sidebar. In case you don’t already know, Facebook data-mines your info and spits out ads just like Google search–or similar to that. This one cracks me up!

“Get Fit To Preach” with a bald, ripped guy who probably is a model who never heard of parsing Greek in order to preach. Or, if he is a pastor, I bet he preaches from the gym, not just attends the church of gym.

All this to say that I have become soft and am mad the Big Brother of Facebook found me out and reminded me of this on the sidebar of my profile. Thanks, Facebook.

What ridiculous advertisement have you endured on your social media site of choice?

Twitter a tool for terrorism says the US Army: how can a social media tool help Jihad?

Some how the US Army believes that Twitter can be used as a tool for terrorists.  I do not buy this out right, but conscede that they have a point.

Church 2.0 Tour is on:

I had the privilege and pleasure of attending a Church 2.0 forum in L.A. not too long ago and when I found out this tour is continuing, I had to blog about it.  The innovation, technology and convergence of ideas talked about from the participants was one of the most refreshing encounters as a church leader I have had in many years.  I believe you will have a similar experience.  (more…)
